Enjoy a tour to the Roman ruins of Pompeii and learn about life in ancient Italy while exploring the compelling archaeological site. Visit uncovered remains of Roman life from 79 A.D. Meet your local guide for the day and board on the coach to depart to Pompeii, passing the beautiful towns along the Amalfi Drive. Upon arrival, first quick stop will be to one of the most prestigious cameo and coral factories in the region to see the production of typical Italian carvings. Soon after the guide will start guided tour of the ruins. On this tour you’ll see the uncovered remains of life as it was on the day of the eruption: baths, bakeries, the arena, and even the brothel. The frozen remnants of Pompeii tell a compelling story about the day the volcano erupted. Continued excavation of the site has revealed statues, skeletons, and tools for you to see. 4 min - Meet your local guide and board on the bus to depart to Pompeii, passing the beautiful towns along the Amalfi Drive. Upon arrival, you will stop to a local cameo factory to see the production of typical Italian carvings, while collecting the headsets to hear the guide in the ruins. Start of the journey bank into the history, which will come alive thanks to our passionate guides during the 2hrs and ½ approx. visit. In Pompeii you'll have the chance to explore one of Europe's most compelling excavation sites. This Roman city was lost for 1700 years, partially destroyed and buried under ash and pumice after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll have a unique insight into ancient city life. At the end of the tour free time for optional lunch. Departure to Amalfi Coast via Sorrento, passing the beautiful Amalfi Drive. Collect photos and selfies along the way with the most incredible views as background. Return to your resort in the afternoon.

Great guided tour to Pompeii

This was a fantastic tour. Aleesandro was so good at bringing so much meaning to the history of Pompeii. We had visited 20 years ago without a guided tour. Bad mistake. The site is so large it takes a lot of experience to find the most important and interesting sites. Highly recommended

Great experience!

A unique historical place, a must visit in the area. Allesandra, our guide, was excellent, very well informed, with lot of information to share and a great sense of Gounod. Claudio was an exceptional driver in a very difficult road. Everything on time and well organised.

Great tour but shorter than advertised

This was an extremely interesting trip to Pompeii. Allesandra, our guide, was excellent. Very organized, knowledgeable, and fun! Claudio, our driver, was very good as well. We spent two hours in Pompeii and saw highlights. I gave this tour a lower score because the description said we would be gone until 6 pm, making me assume we would have much more time to explore Pompeii. In actuality, we got back to Amalfi around 2:30 pm. and had more limited time at Pompeii. If I had known this, I would have combined the tour with a visit to Mt Vesuvius.
